Best Wishes, Pastor Josh and Paula!

Pastor Josh Ebener and his fiancé Paula Costa will be united in marriage at Pastor
Josh’s home church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa, on Saturday,
June 16, 2012, at 3:00 p.m.
Not surprisingly, Pastor Josh will be on vacation for the two Sundays immediately following the wedding (June 17 and June 24). Guest preachers have been arranged.

Dance Cardio Evolution

Come excercize at the new Dance Cardio Evolution classes at Trinity on Saturdays at 9:30am. Participants exercize to the rhythm of cumbia, salsa, punta, merengue, cha cha cha, quebradita, bachata and more. The cost is $2.

Good Friday Service

Good Friday - Friday 4/6, 7:00 pm We turn our hearts to Jesus' suffering and death on the cross. We gather for a somber service with the bidding prayer and procession of the cross. We hear the Passion (Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross) dramatically read from Mark’s gospel.

Maundy Thursday - Thursday 4/5, 7:00 pm - We wash one another’s feet in light of Jesus’ command to humble service and to love one another as he loved us. We recall the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples with Holy Communion.

Holy Week at Trinity

As we move into Holy Week, I hope you can join us at the following servces:

· Palm Sunday - Sunday 4/1, 10:30 am We gather in the parking lot and process into the church with song and palms in hand to mark Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

· Maundy Thursday - Thursday 4/5, 7:00 pm We wash one another’s feet in light of Jesus’ command to humble service and to love one another as he loved us. We recall the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples with Holy Communion.

“a tattooed heart”

What if I told you that you all have a tattoo? For some of you, it’s: well yeah I’ve got more than one. Others are thinking: that’s not for me.

Now, you can see tattoos of all kinds. Usually they convey some sort of meaning.
You can see tattoos on variety of locations on the body. I saw a guy recently with most of his face and head tattooed. Other tattoos are more discrete.

You get your girlfriend or boyfriend’s name tattooed on your arm… but what happens if you break up?

“pushed to the brink”

My brother and I just did some hiking in the desert, and it isn’t hard to get lost. “Zach, I thought we went by that rock!” “No, Josh, it was that rock.”
“Zach, I think the trail goes this way!” “No, Josh, it goes this way.”
Trekking through the wilderness certainly is disorienting.

Who brought the cattle, sheep, and doves to church? I guess there weren’t any “no animals in church” policies in Jesus’ day.
