Dear people of Trinity,
Grace and peace to you. I am sending you information about the Conference and Synod Assemblies coming up soon.
The Greater Long Beach Spring Conference Assembly is open to all members of the congregations in the conference. The Conference Assembly will be held on Saturday, May 1 from 9:30am-12:00noon at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church located at 4645 N Woodruff Ave in Lakewood. The program will be led by Bishop Dean Nelson and the SW California Synod staff. The title of the program is "Will your Congregation Survive?" What will it take for congregations to "make it" in a climate of aging and/or declining membership and economic shifts? What is congregational idenity and mission? Come and explore congregational ministry -present and future. Please consider attending this assembly, it will be very relevant and thought provoking, and a good opportunity to fellowship with others in our conference. If you are able to attend, please let me know.
Please also see the information below on the Synod Assembly. Trinity will be delegating two of our members (one male and one female) attend the assembly as voting members. If you are interested in being a delegate for the Synod Assembly, please contact me as soon as possible (before May 2nd). We will be voting for the delegates at the congregational meeting on May 2nd.
